Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou in Beaumont Puy De Domme in France was born on the 9th August, 1976. Audrey was the elder child in a family of four. Since a young age, her dental surgeon parents and her teacher mother encouraged her passion of theatre and drama. This passion which trumped her original desire to be an animal scientist. When she was a teenager rising to the heights of fame was quick and accompanied by early recognition and success. Prior to beginning the acting profession, she participated in Jeunes Premiers which was a French television show that sought to find talent which was a part of Canal+ in 1998. The program also awarded her the title of The award for the Best Young Actress for her performance in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou was raised in an Catholic home and went to her church even though she attended school within the Institut Catholique de Paris. As well as her acting profession she also pursued a modelling career. Also, she is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is sometimes referred to as the Chanel Muse. She is a keen photographer and has recently exhibited during The Arles International Festival entitled Superficial. Photography of her is primarily focused on the spotlight and celebrities and focuses the camera on the journalists who scrutinised her following her sudden rise to fame with Amelie and a series of self-portraits. Audrey Tautou became a star after her international fame was established with her first role in Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie received international acclai box office success and received acclaim at awards ceremonies across the globe. Amelie was the highest-rated French-language film in the US. The popularity of the film led Tautou to a variety of roles, from British dramas like Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
